Saying goodbye, but not gone

September 30, 2025 marked Boundary Bay Brewery and Bistro’s final day at 1107 Railroad Ave, in Bellingham. Washington. Our home, brewery, taproom and bistro for 30 years, the historic building in the heart of Downtown Bellingham has served as a place for community, celebrations, family, music, art, award winning beer, delicious food, and a lifetime of unforgettable memories.

With the inevitable sale of our building and the coinciding retirement of Boundary Bay owners Ed Bennett and Janet Lightner, we are now focusing solely on beer production and distribution with brewing help from our long time friends Black Raven Brewery in Woodinville, Washington. We have contracted with Black Raven Brewery to brew NW Original IPA, Cedar Dust IPA, Scotch Ale and select seasonal well into the future. You can find Boundary Bay Beer at local groceries stores, pubs, and restaurants.

Walton Beverage Company, our long time distribution partner, is handling distribution needs and accounts in Whatcom and Skagit counties. Distribution in Snohomish and King County will continue to be served in a combination of ways; privately though Boundary Bay and through Odem Corporation.

While this isn’t the outcome we had hope for, we are hopeful for the future and will continue to Save the Ales!
