Tango Cowboys

Bellingham’s own Tango Cowboys play tangos from Argentina! Tango means emphatic rhythms, and soaring melodies from the Golden Age of tango, including such favorites at El Choclo, La Cumparsita, Por Una Cebeza, Milonga Sentimental, etc. and specializing in the songs of the great Tango King, Carlos Gardel.

Rich Hinrichsen (keys, voice, guitar), Robin Kallsen (voice), and Stuart Zobel (guitar).

Tom Bourne (guitar), an original founding member of Tango Cowboys, will appear as a special guest.

Corazones De Cedro brings the centuries-old musical tradition of Son Jarocho from the Gulf Coast of Mexico. Frontman Primo Lara, a native of Guanajuato, Mexico, developed a deep love of the music of Veracruz where he learned to play the traditional instruments of Son Jarocho music. His gifted performances are rhythmically sophisticated and consistently engaging. Son Jarocho is a part of the Caribbean music culture of Veracruz, Mexico with clear links to neighboring Afro-Caribbean musics, featuring the instrumentation of requinto, leona, jarana and cajón. Primo Lara (requinto, vocals); Kate Conway (jarana, vocals); Ryan Chase (leona); Steve Jones (cajón, bombo).

Cuarto Sueño (Fourth Dream) captivates audiences with live performances of high energy Flamenco guitar, modern Latin jazz, and creative arrangements of familiar classics. Influenced by a range of pioneers from Al Di Meola and Paco de Lucía, to Jaco Pastorius and Chick Corea, Cuarto Sueño delivers an exciting and accessible sound to listeners of all tastes.

Cuarto Sueño is an acoustic jazz quartet comprised of BJ Block and Jacob Seyer (guitars), Tom Anastasio (bass) and Steve Jones (percussion).

Bilongo is a Bantu word, meaning spell or potion - medicine for the soul. Based in Bellingham, Bilongo is a 7 piece Latin jazz band featuring the vocals of Sabrina Gomez and has been performing at local venues and festivals such as Downtown Sounds, Boulevard Park, The Wild Buffalo, Tuesday Tunes and the Whatcom Library Concert Series. The music is inspired by artists such as Natalia Lafourcade, Poncho Sanchez and Buena Vista Social Club. Dancing encouraged!
