CURRENT TAP LINEUP

Here's what we're offering on tap at the Brewery
  • Amber Ale

    OG 15 // 57 IBUs // 5.8% ABV

A deep reddish-brown ale with medium to full body and a lively hop character which makes it particularly refreshing. This is a much fuller style than most amber ales. Original Gravity 1.058
  • Bellingham Blonde Ale

    OG 12 // 45 IBUs // 5.1% ABV

As a straightforward, lighter bodied ale, our Blonde was brewed specially for Bellingham summer time, however, it compliments any meal nicely and has become a year-round favorite. A great beer for lunch, or after work, it's well-rounded softness results from the generous amounts of German pilsner and Vienna malts, balanced with a crisp and cleansing noble Saaz Hop finish.
  • Cabin Fever

    OG 21 // 45 IBUs // 8.5% ABV

A strong ale or "winter warmer" with dark red-brown color and a very rich malty flavor. While this big beer is deceptively strong, it tastes very smooth thanks to extra long cold conditioning. Released in Late Fall/Early Winter. Original Gravity
  • Dry Irish Stout

    OG 12 // 29 IBUs // 4.2% ABV

A lighter bodied dry Irish Stout with silky body and session beer qualities. Served on nitro for maximum smoothness and dense creamy head.
  • ESB

    OG 13.5 // 45 IBUs // 5.4% ABV

Our most traditional pale style, Bitter's pleasing caramel color is a reflection of the malts, notably pale 2-Row & Carastan malts. The clean flavors of Perle, Mt. Hood and Cascade hops make this a smooth and eminently quaffable ale with a dry finish that calls out for more!
  • IPA

    OG 17 // 78 IBUs // 7% ABV

A honey-amber colored India Pale Ale with good body, fairly strong alcohol content and an aggressive "fresh hop" quality. One of our most popular brews!
  • Oatmeal Stout

    OG 21 // 37 IBUs // 9.6% ABV

A meal in a glass. A black, very rich and full-bodied stout with a silky smoothness that gives way to a long "roasty" finish. A heavy weight monster of a beer - not for the timid! Try it with dessert, even better yet, give our Oatmeal Stout Float a try!
  • Pilsner

    OG 12.5 // 40 IBUs // 5% ABV

A light, honey colored lager with a beautiful hop aroma and flavor. This beer is fermented at lower temperatures than an ale, creating a drier body with less fruity esters. Released in Summer.
  • Scotch Ale

    OG 15.6 // 31 IBUs // 6.4% ABV

A hearty, deep red ale with full body and fine malt character. We add just enough hops to balance the malt. The result is smooth and rich without becoming too sweet. Original Gravity 1.064
  • Steady as She GOSE

    12.3 OG // 4 IBUs // 3.8% ABV

A revived, historic-style from Leipzig, Germany, Gose, (pronounced goes-uh). But wait, salt in beer? Try seawater. Sourced directly from a deep water current in our very own PNW Salish Sea. Don't stay the course, get "Steady as She Gose" with a glass of this highly refreshing slightly soured-and-salted wheat beer!

GALBRAITH MOUNTAIN SERIES

Named after the Galbraith Mountain trails, located between Bellingham and Sudden Valley, this fresh series of Boundary Bay brews intends to capture a taste of the great outdoors & the adventurous spirit of the PNW.
  • Cedar Dust IPA

    OG 16 // IBUs 66 // 6.5% ABV

Brewed with five varieties of big hops, all bred and grown in WA state, Cedar Dust IPA has a distinctive herbal pine, citrus aroma. The addition of Mosaic hops, provide subtle blueberry undertones followed by a spicy, earth mouthfeel. Smooth and naturally carbonated, it has a unique blend of malts (including a secret dark malts!) which provide just enough backbone to balance it’s big hop character. Complex, delicious and refreshing! As they say, a bit of wood makes a big difference.
  • Lost Giants CDA

    OG 23 // 100+ IBUs // 9.5% ABV

Sasquatch’s Choice! With 5lbs of hops per barrel brewed, our Imperial CDA is one of the biggest and boldest of it’s kind. A massive beer, it’s full body, midnight black color & elusive complex flavors symbolize the Lost Giants who wander the PNW. Dank floral, citrus-pine aromas are offset by subtle, roasted toffee-chocolate flavors and traces of dark fruit-like dates, plums and dried cherries; culminating in complex tastiness and a smooth, well-rounded, lingering bitterness. You’ll note the luscious, tan head of foam hangs along for the ride (cheers to natural carbonation!). Try pairing it with rich foods and desserts; like our Beer Beef Stew or our Brownie Sundae!
  • Not Shawn's Saison

    OG 15.4 // 30 IBUs // 6% ABV

In the style of a traditional Belgian, Farmhouse Saison, Not Shawn’s is a balanced, dry, crisp and memorable beer. At 6% ABV it is a truly session able ale. It is bright as crystal and a mellow, golden-orange color that is never filtered. We gave this brew a little extra time and cellar-love to allow for the lemon, bubblegum, and melon aromas and superbly balanced, continental malt characters to fully develop. Styrian Golding noble hops harmonize incredibly well with the biscuit and grain flavors from Pilsner malt. With a slight tang and just a touch of spicy rye malt and lemony citrus notes from New Zealand Pacific Gem Hops, this beer is complex, smooth and refreshing - and leaves you wanting another! Let it warm a little in the glass to release even more of Not Shawn’s special aromas and flavors. You’d never know you aren’t in Brussels…”Sante!”
  • Wonderland Belgian Strong Golden

    OG 19 // 31 IBUs // 8.5% ABV

The beer is a moderate golden-orange color with a fine, clean, off-white head that laces elegantly int he glass. Flaked wheat and pilsner malts enhance the head retention and body; while the use of acidulated malt, proper yeast handling, and high carbonation result in a deliciously crispy, refreshing warm-weather beer with a definite citrus-like tang! With subtle-to-moderate Belgian -yeast aromas of clove, complex fruit esters, and mellow herbal, earthy, and peppery flavor undertones, this deceptively alcohol-rich beer pairs extremely well with casual PNW summer fare; like lemon-pepper salmon and beet salad with goat cheese and candyed walnuts!
  • Woopsie Woodle Vienna Lager

    OG 12.3 // 19 IBUs // 5.8%ABV

Woopsie Woodle Vienna Lager is as supremely balanced as a Galbraith rider. It is a clean lager with bold bread, toffee, and toasty malt flavors and a dry finish that makes for a super-refreshing summer brew. This delicious and highly-quaffable style has historic roots in 1840’s Austria and is unfortunately not brewed often, but is dearly appreciated by beer aficionados. Enjoy this Vienna, Munich, and Pilsner malt-derived beauty, and the extra cellar time that is has received, as a perfect pair to nearly any meal. Particularly roasted-spicy meats, nutty cheeses and toasty deserts, like apple strudel. Think toasty and tasty!
  • Kaiser Schwarzbier

    OG 13.5 // 27 IBUs // 5.5% ABV

Schwarzbier mean "black beer" in German. This dark brown-black lager could almost be described as Germany's answer to porter or stout, yet is much crisper and more refreshing. It goes great with hearty European and American cuisine- think sausages and roast meats. Its aromas of cocoa, espresso, and slight roast carry over to dark cooked fruit/ raisin, mild clove-spice, and a fairly full mouthfeel that finishes dry. All in all a dark, clean lager of subtlety that is a quite refreshing Winer offering.
  • Safety Break ISA

    OG 11.5 // 75 IBUs // 4.5% ABV

The IPA-drinker's go-to "session" beer. The Safety Break experience starts with straight-forward, golden-straw color and a bright, tangerine-orange hop aroma. The taste is imminently bitter up-front and flows into a truly NW hop experience with minor hints of musky pine and cool melon. Safety Break ISA is balanced with the lightest touches of biscuity malt character (from small amounts of crystal malts), culminating in a classic refreshing NW ale that will leave you feeling "safe", refreshed and hop-satisfied! And, at just under 5% alcohol, feel free to enjoy a Safety Break, just about any time.

SEASONAL BEERS

We brew these beers only one time each year. Our seasonal beers are rarely available to go.

  • Irish Red

    OG 12 // 26 IBUs // 4% ABV

Brewed in honor of the annual Bellingham St. Patrick's Day Parade, this Irish Style Red Ale is an smooth, easy drinking, lighter bodied ale with a deep red hue. It has a low hop bitterness and a toffee-like roasted, dry yet malty, clean finish. Released in February/Early March. Look for it in 22oz bottles.
  • Lightner Lager

    OG 9 // 24 IBUs // 3.7% ABV

In an effort to offer our customers a wide variety of craft beer choices and styles, we have created this light American style that features a clean, crisp and refreshing session beer quality. Session beers are known for featuring a balance between malt and hop characters, a clean finish and high drinkability. It is the lightest of our beers and named after Craig Lightner, our General Manager's Father. Released in Late Spring/Early Summer.
  • Ski to Sea ESB

    OG 13.5 // 45 IBUs // 5.6% ABV

Brewed in honor of the annual Ski to Sea race here in our community. This is a copper colored English style pale ale which emphasizes the subtle blend of imported and domestic malts. The addition of dry hops adds a delightful hoppy aroma and a slight floral, grassy flavor. Released in early Summer.
  • Pilsner

    OG 12.5 // 40 IBUs // 5% ABV

A light, honey colored lager with a beautiful hop aroma and flavor. This beer is fermented at lower temperatures than an ale, creating a drier body with less fruity esters. Released in Summer.
  • Highland Reserve Scotch Ale

    8% ABV

Brewed in commemoration of the annual Highland Games, this beer is rich and dark with a faint smokey finish. Dark Crystal and peated malts are added to achieve the elements unique to this historic seasonal. Released in mid-Summer.
  • Traverse Red IPA

    OG 16.6 // 82 IBUs // 6.5% ABV

Traverse Red IPA is an ideal late-summer/fall IPA with a monster floral and pine hop nose. A healthy does of complex malt sweetness from Belgian Abbey, Crystal-15, and honey malts balances the hops. A fair amount of German Carafa and Carared malts give the ale its characteristic amber-ruby color. Traverse is a bitter-but-balanced, hearty and refreshing IPA, brewed especially for the annual Bellingham Traverse Race.
  • Harvest Rye

    OG 15.5 // 38 IBUs // 6.5% ABV

This year's Harvest is a light copper colored, medium bodied rye ale. Hoppy, yet balanced with notes of pepper from the rye. Brewed especially for Fall, this seasonal has a dry and clean balance with just enough refreshment and warmth for those blustery days. Released in Fall.
  • 3-B

    9.4 OG // 25 IBU's // 3.7% ABV

3-B is a porthole to the rich beer history of the PNW, especially Bellingham. This balanced session ale was created with the original pre-prohibition recipe in mind. Bellingham Bay Brewery, a Northwest Washington institution that contributed immensely to beer culture in the Great Northwest, brewed 3-B Beer in the early 1900's. Enjoy this limited release freely as you soak up the longer, warmer days of spring and summer; and, toast one to Leapold F. Schmidt (founder of the 3-B Brewery) and the brewers that came before. Prost!
  • Trappist Style Dubbel

    23 IBU's // 8% ABV

Boundary Bay's Trappist-Style Dubbel is a gorgeous, golden-amber color with a light tan head. Aromas of Belgian candi sugar, toffee, and pretzel greet the fortunate imbiber. At first sip, there is a light spice and very present earthiness on the palate, with toasted pretzel and dried fig flavors present, filling all the surfaces of the tongue with a number of flavors. The complex, lingering finish is bitter and sweet at once, not quite a singular balance, but something much more dynamic. The yeast, of course, is the star of this beer's song, but the Belgian and German specialty malts are solid back-up singers!   Pair with pork, barbecued meats (steak!), any washed-rind/ creamy cheese (think brie or gouda), and sweets like chocolate or creme brulee. This beer is going to be awesome with a little more age on it! Watch out!
